


It becomes nearly three times the size of the original trilogy when Legendary Edition's day one patch is added to the equation, though the extra 11 GB likely won't add to the total size. When compared to the file sizes for the Mass Effect games on their original launch consoles, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is more than twice as large as those three titles combined. According to Twitter's PlayStationSize, the remasters' download size on PS4 has been found to clock in at around 80 GB, as well. This presumably does not include the large day one patch, which is said to be over 11 GB. The collection's Xbox download size, according to the image, will be 84.3 GB, and it will presumably be the same on Xbox Series X/S since Mass Effect Legendary Edition is only backward compatible on new consoles. So much is being refined in this remaster that it has already been announced the title will receive a sizable day one patch to assist in performance issues.

While the main focus of Mass Effect Legendary Edition is to provide a graphical update to all of the games, particularly the older ones, other important gameplay mechanics have been improved as well including the combat and character creation. This BioWare compilation is a full remaster of the original Mass Effect trilogy, as well as most of the three games' DLCs. Preloads for the upcoming Mass Effect Legendary Edition are now available on Xbox a full week before the title's official launch on May 14.
